Mental illness disproportionality impacts minority cultures due to differences in beliefs about illnesses, lack of access to resources, and barriers such as stigma and socioeconomic status (SES). Our hope is this event can help eliminate barriers and highlight ways we can serve minority groups better and build awareness within our community of accessible resources. Our goal is to raise awareness about the intersectionality between mental health and culture, bringing together organizations to share with the community and network with each other.

What To Expect!
Tabling

We’re bringing together as many community partners as possible to share resources with attendees and create opportunities to network! This is a chance for organizations to share about their mission and services.
Speakers
We’ll be bringing in people to speak about their lived experiences with mental illness and/or addiction, as well as the intersectionality between mental health/addiction and culture.
Fundraising
We will be raising funds to help Remix Recovery expand and become accessible to more groups of people. From operational costs to peer facilitator training, we need funds to grow and keep pursuing our mission to smash stereotypes and break down stigma!
Connecting with the Community
We want to meet members of the community, hear their stories, and let them know that Remix Recovery is ready to support them.
Food
Food brings people together within and across cultures. We’re excited to offer a pancake breakfast and hope to have some vendors from different cultural backgrounds as well!
Games and Activties
What a better way to connect and bond with others than some games! We will have some lawn games and maybe even some fun festival-like activities too. Be sure to also check out our interactive educational booths!
